I don’t I’ll ever be able to afford a house … I don’t even know what it takes to buy a house … I don’t think my credit is good enough to buy a house … I am barely paying my rent, I certainly can’t afford to buy a house …
Does any of this sound like you? Buying your first home can be a frightening experience for anyone, but even more so for a single parent. Confused about finances, mortgage terms, predatory lending and locating a competent realtor can keep an otherwise qualified single parent from seeking home ownership.
KEYS is designed to take all of the guesswork out of buying your first home. It is a series of educational workshops designed to walk single parents along the path leading to home ownership.
KEYS participants will meet with lenders, credit counselors, realtors and home buying counselors to chart individual plans to take them from renting or homelessness to home ownership.
This program fosters the idea that home ownership promotes stability, ensuring the fulfillment of SPARC’s mission of providing the community with better-equipped single parent families.
If you are a single parent that simply wants to know what you need to do in order to qualify for your first home, call us to see when the next series of workshops begin.
We look forward to seeing you there.
